These are our
foundation dogs. Because of the very limited gene pool in this breed,
we strive to keep the inbreeding coefficient as low as possible in the
litters we breed. This requires careful study of the extended pedigrees of
the sires and dams, going back eight or more generations, and having
foundation stock from different lines. Our dogs were carefully
selected for their pedigrees from a number of excellent lines in
Europe and Canada.
But, merely producing many repeat litters from the
same sire and dam only further limits the gene pool.
Developing our own wirehaired vizsla line and expanding the gene
pool requires a several males and females, all from
different, unrelated lines, not just a
single pair.
Our dogs all live with us on our small acreage
near Assaria, KS. They rotate between being in the house, the yard, or the
kennels we built just for them. With our indoor/outdoor kennel runs, they
have a safe, secure place to be when we're not at home and are more
comfortable than being confined in crates for extended periods.

At only 13 weeks old, under a talented young Junior handler,
Betyar won Best in Match over seven other WHVs, including four UKC
champions, at the very first WHVCA Fun Match, held May 17,
2008 in Perry, GA!!
