We enjoy getting out in the field with our dogs. We hunt pheasant & quail in the numerous walk-in hunting areas in Kansas. Go to http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/news/hunting for information on hunting in Kansas. We've never hunted waterfowl before, but Tulip loves it so much we've joined the ranks of duck hunters!

We participate in two NAVHDA chapters, OK & Big Muddy NAVHDA. We've traveled to OK, Big Muddy, Iowa, Rocky Mtn. & Wyoming chapters for our tests.
Deb recently went to the Rocky Mtn NAVHDA tests to cheer for a couple of Konza Vadasz WHV who did their NA tests. She took Tulip & Lady along for the ride & to have a mini-reunion! Bryan & Amanda's QP did her NA test when she was a pup (Pz. I, 112 pts.) but she came along to see everybody.

It was great fun to get together with our dogs, see our good friends the Johnsons and Robert and to cheer for Ada & Ciga on their NA test success! We are really proud of the way they impressed the judges, handlers and spectators.

                                                                                                            
These are some pictures from our hunting trip to Sparks, Nevada in November, 2003.
Notice how the WHV is as well camouflaged as the birds they're hunting! It's hard to get good pictures of the dogs without super-telephoto zoom lenses, but you can see them if you look closely.

Even after a long day, Gypsum still had lots of energy to run around and play with his new owner! 

Back in Kansas, Doug & Tulip are usually able to bag an occasional pheasant, even late in the season. There are still birds out there even in late December and January, but you have to be super stealthy!

Our pups are introduced to birds early in life and are playing "wing-on-a-string" by 8 weeks.
